Electronics deal calendar

Major holidays and new-model launches are when last year's device gets cheaper. Decide the spec first so a discount cannot talk you into the wrong one.

Fare & Find may earn a commission if you book or buy through a link on this page. That does not change the price you pay. Affiliate disclosure.

Electronics do not become a good buy because a site says the savings are large. They become a good buy when the model you wanted is cheaper than it was, and the feature you skipped is one you can name.

Write down the spec before you shop: screen size, battery life you need, whether it must work with a case or a lens you own. Then watch that model. A different model at a loud discount is a different decision.

When to look

A way to keep score

Check the price once before the sale season and write it down. During the sale, buy if the number is lower and the seller is one you can return to. Marketplace listings that are much cheaper than the manufacturer often have a warranty or a region you do not want.

Do not finance a discount. If the cash price is not one you can pay, the calendar did not create a deal. It created a payment plan.
